Rayburn Ralph Griffith (born 1895 in Marion Center, Pennsylvania) built a distinguished insurance career in Front Royal, taking over the S. G. Allen Insurance Agency in 1942 and operating R. R. Griffith Insurance. He served as Warren County Republican Committee secretary and county assessor, belonged to the Lions Club, and married Leona Allen, with whom he had one son.
Born in Fairfield, Virginia, in 1915, William David Hockman, Jr., became a prominent Front Royal businessman, automobile dealer, and owner of Royal Bus Lines. He also managed a nearly 100-acre farm, participated in civic and fraternal organizations, attended the Presbyterian Church, and pursued hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and other sporting interests.
John Campbell Boggs (1896–?) was a Virginia educator and longtime principal of Randolph-Macon Academy in Front Royal. A Duke graduate, he served with the American Expeditionary Force during World War I, earning the Purple Heart and Distinguished Service Cross after being wounded. He also served in the Virginia National Guard, was active in the Methodist Church, and married Mattie Walton Epes.
